My Career Service with the United States Navy, Atlantic and Pacific Fleets, during war and non-war (World War II, Korean Action, and Vietnam Conflict) began at the U. S. Naval Training Station (Boot Camp), at Newport, Rhode Island.

In conjunction with Navy military duties, served in the Electrical and Electronics fields of Naval Aviation (Avionics). Supervised, inspected and carried-out trouble-shooting, maintenance, calibration, repair, installation, testing and service on Communication, Navigation, Radar, and Magnetic Anomaly Detection equipment. Set-up shop, laboratory, and electronic field instruments. Participated as a Designated Air-crew-man (AC): Airborne Air Controller, Radio/Radar and Magnetic Anomaly Detection (MAD) Operator; on board Navy carrier-based aircraft (numerous catapult take-off launches and tail-hook arresting gear landings afloat), and land-based aircraft ashore. A Designated Instructor with classroom and laboratory experience instructing Electrical and Electronics Technology. Also, taught Applied Mathematics and the Slide Rule at a Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC). Attended several specialty training schools to support artisan proficiency. And, on three occasions, was admitted to U. S. Naval Hospitals for surgery.
